Angelina Jolie humanitarian
May 16th, 2008, Angelina humanitarian,Angelina Jolie is more than just a pretty face. She’s also a world renowned and respected humanitarian and UN goodwill ambassador; but is Angelina misguided in her humanitarian efforts? Or worse, is Angelina Jolie the humanitarian just a character the actress plays? Are her humanitarian interests genuine or has she just gotten trapped in a role she started playing when was younger and wanted to emulate the late Princess Diana?
Here are some words spoken by Angelina at the Council on Foreign Relations back in April:
“It is a fact that the best way to heal children in conflict and their trauma is to focus their minds on their future and give them an education. It’s also a fact that an educated population is the best guarantee for a stable and prosperous future.” [source]
Do you think Angelina Jolie really cares that much about children in conflict? Doesn’t it seem as if someone who cares that much about a crisis of this magnitude could not afford a full-time distraction like a movie career?
